About Me
Dr Wayne Lee is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and the Clinical Director of Next Practice Newstead. He has additional training in emergency medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, and digital health informatics.
Dr Lee completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland after receiving the University Medal for Outstanding Research in Biochemistry, followed by a Master of Biotechnology with Distinction at the Australian National University. He has worked across metropolitan, rural, and remote Australia, gaining broad experience in general practice, preventative health, mental health, corporate health, hospital medicine, and chronic disease management.
He is known for his holistic and collaborative approach, focusing on personalised, evidence‑based care. Dr Lee supports patients to build structured long‑term health programs tailored to their goals, integrating preventative care, government‑funded health assessments, cancer screening, chronic disease plans, and lifestyle interventions. Alongside clinical practice, Dr Lee is active in medical education, leadership, and healthcare innovation. He has held roles with the University of Queensland, AMA Queensland, RACGP Queensland Faculty Council, and is the founder of Readimedic, a primary‑care workforce navigation platform. Outside medicine, Dr Lee is an award‑winning vocalist known as the “Singing Doctor from Down Under” and enjoys supporting community wellbeing initiatives.
