About Me

Dr Tristan Nguyen (ABN: 70114352008) is a General Practitioner who is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Tristan completed his university degree in medicine at Western Sydney University in 2013.

He has over 9-year experience working as a doctor in more than 20 fields, 8 different hospitals including Westmead Hospital in New South Wales prior to working in General Practice. He has also had previous experience in Physicians training for 2 years gaining further experience in management of complex and chronic health conditions including neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology, respiratory, drug and alcohol, immunology, renal, rheumatology, and geriatric medicine. He has also had Obstetrics and Paediatric experience. He completed his fellowship General Practice training in 2022.

He has a keen interest in managing chronic and complex diseases at all ages, proactive preventative health, mental health, men’s health along with women’s and children’s health.

After working for many years hospital system, Tristan believes that proactive high-quality holistic healthcare can completely prevent or delay progression of many chronic health conditions and presentations to hospital, along with improving patients' quality of life and wellbeing.

In his spare time, Tristan enjoys family time with his wife and primary school aged daughter, playing games with his dog Milo, persists with regular calisthenic exercises every day, along with ongoing reading, learning about a variety of topics including history and economics, and travelling the world.

Please note: Procedures will incur a treatment room and consumable fee that is charged in addition to the GP consultation. Treatment room and consumable fees are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.

My Billing Policy:

My fees cover the cost of providing you with a high-quality healthcare service, that includes my services alongside practice nurses and reception staff, within a purpose-built, state-of-the-art medical facility.

Please note that I require full payment at the time of your consultation.

I do not accept cash payments.

For your convenience your claim can be processed through Medicare online and your rebate will be deposited into your nominated bank account within 24/48 hours, provided that you have registered your bank details with Medicare.

I charge 10% less on the GAP fee for Pension and Concession Card Holders and patients under the age of 18 years old.

Bulk billing is only available for children under 2 years of age.

DVA Gold holders will be charged directly to DVA only.

WorkCover:
You will need to pay for your GP visit on the day until your case is accepted or denied by WorkCover. Reimbursement will be provided by WorkCover QLD.

Telehealth Appointments:

As per new Medicare guidelines patients who are not registered for MyMedicare will continue to require a face-to-face visit in the previous 12 months with their GP and/or practice to be eligible for Medicare rebates for telehealth consultations.

Payment Policy for Telehealth Appointments:

For all of my telehealth appointments, I require a credit card pre-authorisation (with your consent). When booking your appointment, a temporary hold for the estimated cost may be placed on your card to secure your booking. This will appear as a pending charge but the amount will not be deducted until your appointment is complete. You may see both the pending and final charges at the same time however you won't be charged twice, the pending charge will disappear once the payment is processed.

For your convenience your claim can be processed through Medicare online and your rebate will be deposited into your nominated bank account within 24/48 hours, provided that you have registered your bank details with Medicare.

If a valid credit card is not pre-authorised at the time of booking, your appointment will not be booked.

Cancellation Policy:

Failure to attend two appointments will incur an automatic “Did not attend fee” for the full cost of the appointment. 

  • Standard Appointments: If you need to cancel or reschedule your standard appointment, I require at least 2 hours' notice. If you fail to attend your standard appointment without warning; after the second occurrence a did not attend (DNA) fee of $50 will apply. Please note that no Medicare rebate applies to this charge.
  • WorkCover Appointments: If you need to cancel or reschedule your WorkCover appointment, I require at least 2 hours' notice. Failure to attend any WorkCover appointment will require full pre-payment for any future bookings. This pre-payment will be retained if a subsequent appointment is missed. Please note that no Medicare rebate applies to this charge.
  • Care Plan and Extended Appointments: If you need to cancel or reschedule a care plan or extended appointment, I require at least 24 hours' notice. If no cancellation is made there will be a full charge without warning. No Medicare rebate applies to this charge.
  • Exceptional Circumstances: In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as sudden illness or emergency, please contact the clinic as soon as possible to let me know. I will endeavor to work with you to reschedule your appointment at the earliest convenience.
