Book NowAt Next Practice Newstead, we believe healthcare should be seamless, efficient, and accessible. That's why we offer onsite pathology collection through 4Cyte Pathology, conveniently located within our clinic on Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley, with easy access for patients from Newstead, Teneriffe, New Farm, Bowen Hills, Spring Hill, Brisbane CBD, and surrounding suburbs.
Having a pathology collection available onsite allows patients to attend a GP appointment and complete requested tests in the one location. You're welcome to use our onsite collection for convenience, or take your pathology request to any approved provider of your choice.
4Cyte Pathology is an Australian pathology provider offering a broad range of diagnostic testing services, supporting our GPs in making informed clinical decisions and delivering ongoing patient care. By partnering with 4Cyte Pathology, Next Practice Newstead offers patients convenient access to pathology collection without the need to travel to a separate collection centre.
Patients attending our clinic can access a comprehensive range of pathology tests, including:
Blood tests, including full blood count (FBC), iron studies, cholesterol and lipid profiles, diabetes screening and HbA1c testing, thyroid function tests, liver and kidney function tests, hormone testing, vitamin and mineral assessments, and general health screening.
Women's health and pregnancy testing, including pregnancy confirmation, antenatal screening, gestational diabetes testing, hormonal assessments, and women's health investigations.
Chronic disease monitoring for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, thyroid disorders, kidney disease, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
Sexual health screening, including confidential STI screening and related investigations as requested by your GP.
Urine, swab, and other specimen collection, including urine testing, microbiology specimens, and other pathology investigations where clinically required.
In most cases, a separate appointment is not required for pathology collection. Patients will need a valid pathology request form from their GP or treating practitioner.
Collection services are generally available during pathology operating hours. Some tests may require specific preparation, such as fasting, and our team can provide guidance where necessary. Pathology fees vary by test and provider; contact 4Cyte or our team for current pricing.
